Welcome to the Office of Security and Emergency Management Students learn best when they feel safe and secure. Insuring safety and security for students and staff at all school sites is the goal of this office.
The Office of Security and Emergency Management reviews and improves safety and emergency planning at all sites on a continuing basis. We supervise security staff help to prevent and solve potential problems throughout the District. We provide resources to help staff and students deal with any crisis that might occur, such as as severe weather, a flu epidemic, or threatened violence. We work with other SPPS departments to help reduce bullying. We coordinate our work with community resources, police, fire, and emergency responders. Staff information and contacts are available here.
This site provides resources for students, parents, and staff. There are tools and
tips to help students feel safer, resolve conflicts, and know
what to do when an emergency arises. Parents can find a range of information to help deal with fears about violence, gangs, or other problems. Staff can access emergency planning and security training, understand emergency procedures, complete reports on fire drills and practice lockdowns, and keep up with the latest developments in safety planning.
Saint
Paul Public Schools are bustling with big-city, multicultural energy.
We want to help students take full advantage of everything the schools can provide in this exciting environment - and to do so safely.
